Aseptic Technical Solutions (ATS) is recognized for its commitment to advancing knowledge and skills in Sterile Processing, both locally and nationally. At ATS, we focus on enlightening individuals and enhancing the competencies of those already engaged in the Central Sterile Processing field. Our approach is to deliver essential, cost-effective information through well-structured sessions.


Our team consists of professionals holding CRCST, CHL, CER, and CIS certifications, bringing together over 100 years of expertise in areas such as Sterile Processing Supervision, Operating Room Liaison, Endoscopy Reprocessing, Sterile Processing Quality Assurance, and optimization of department workflows. These seasoned experts lead our tailored sessions, ensuring comprehensive learning experiences.


ATS has developed a series of educational sessions designed to thoroughly prepare participants for the HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association) international certification exams. 


These sessions also include specialized knowledge in surgical instrument handling, offering a holistic understanding of Central Sterile Processing. Our dedication to excellence in this field equips learners with the skills and insights necessary to excel in any Sterile Processing environment.

Our Team

Terry Scott CRCST, CHL, CIS, CER

   Terry Scott is a nationally recognized leader in the field of sterile processing and co-partner of Aseptic Technical Solutions, where he has helped educate and mentor thousands of new technicians nationwide. With nearly 17 years of experience, Terry has worked across teaching hospitals, surgery centers, and university health systems—earning a reputation for excellence, innovation, and leadership.


At Aseptic Technical Solutions, Terry leads the organization’s innovation, virtual learning platforms, and strategic marketing initiatives. His forward-thinking approach to department design, workflow optimization, and staff development has helped departments across the country improve performance, reduce costs, and strengthen workplace culture. He applies Lean Six Sigma principles to sterile processing problem-solving, using data-driven methods to eliminate waste, enhance efficiency, and drive continuous improvement.


Terry’s leadership is defined by vision, accountability, and the ability to turn complex challenges into sustainable progress. As a mentor, he is deeply committed to shaping the next generation of sterile processing professionals, offering both guidance and real-world solutions to departments in need of transformation.


Beyond his professional achievements, Terry is a dedicated family man and lifelong learner with a passion for personal growth, entrepreneurship, and financial education. His ability to blend technical expertise with human connection makes him not only a leader in his field but an inspiration to those who strive to do meaningful work with lasting impact.

Michael Thinner B.B.A, CRCST, CHL, CIS, CER

    

Michael Thinner stands out as a dynamic and passionate educator in the field of Sterile Processing, boasting over 14 years of rich experience across prominent Delaware Valley hospitals, including Temple University Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and Cooper University Hospital. His journey through various roles, from technician to lead tech, supervisor, O.R. Operations Manager, and now as a systems educator, reflects his deep commitment to the field.


Michael's pursuit of knowledge led him to leverage educational benefits at the health systems he worked with, culminating in a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management from Temple University's Fox School of Business in 2016. His studies emphasized employee retention and motivation, areas that have greatly influenced his professional approach.


Holding esteemed certifications such as CRCST, CHL, CER and CIS through HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association), Michael's expertise is well-recognized. In 2017, he co-founded Aseptic Technical Solutions alongside colleagues Terry Scott and Dontaye Jones, where he now serves as the Managing Partner. His role extends to overseeing all affiliated programs and operations at ATS.


Michael's fervor for education and his engaging personality make him an ideal lead instructor. His extensive experience and academic background have been pivotal in developing ATS's professional development and job readiness programs, complementing the CRCST certification course. His role as a Project Manager in consulting contracts with the University of Maryland Medical Center and Trinity Health highlights his proficiency in process improvement, quality assurance, and survey readiness.


Beyond his professional endeavors, Michael is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, a lover of live entertainment, and a culinary enthusiast, often found preparing delicious meals for friends and family. His multifaceted personality and dedication to both his career and personal interests define him as a well-rounded and influential figure in the Sterile Processing community.

Cory McLaughlin CRCST

  

Cory McLaughlin stands at the forefront of sterile processing as the Supervisor at St. Christopher's Hospital, bringing over a decade of specialized experience to the role. His career is marked by a deep commitment to excellence in the field of Central Sterile Processing, a journey that began with foundational roles and evolved into leadership positions.


Cory's expertise spans the intricate process of decontaminating, assembling, and inspecting surgical instruments and equipment, a skill set he has developed and refined through his tenure at various respected healthcare institutions. His role at St. Peters Health Care Services in Albany, NY, was instrumental in shaping his proficiency, especially in orthopedic procedures, where he skillfully managed biological testing of flash sterilizers and the preparation of operating room stocks.


Elevating to a leadership role at Temple University Hospital, Cory demonstrated his adeptness in leading sterile processing teams and contributing significantly to staff training and managerial tasks. His current position at St. Christopher's Hospital underscores his wide-ranging expertise, particularly in handling complex instrument sets across diverse surgical specialties, and his adept use of advanced sterilization technologies.


Cory's remarkable ability to lead, mentor, and drive operational efficiency in a high-pressure environment not only marks him as a distinguished supervisor but also as a mentor and role model for professionals aspiring to make their mark in sterile processing.

Keena Coleman CRCST


Keenan K. Coleman, currently the Manager at Jefferson Orthopaedic Surgery Center, brings over ten years of rich experience to the forefront of sterile processing. His career trajectory is marked by a strong adaptability and meticulous attention to detail, qualities that are evident in his excellent communication skills and ability to effectively lead teams in demanding environments.


Beginning his professional journey at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Keenan demonstrated a wide-ranging skill set in sterile processing, building sets for various specialties and implementing efficient inventory management systems. His expertise in maintaining sterile environments, coupled with a sharp eye for detail, rapidly established him as a standout in the field.


As a Core Processing Coordinator at the Children Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP), Keenan’s skills were further honed. There, he was responsible for coordinating with operating rooms and managing complex sterilization processes for diverse instruments and scopes, all while maintaining standards set by AAMI and AORN.


Keenan’s leadership abilities were further solidified at Nemours Children Hospital, where he excelled as a Lead Tech. His role involved supervising workflows and collaborating closely with clinical leaders and sales representatives to ensure the seamless operation of services. His expertise in specialized instruments and up-to-date knowledge of endoscopic procedures were key to his success.


In his current role as the Manager of Jefferson Orthopaedic Surgery Center, Keenan applies his extensive experience and deep understanding of sterile processing to spearhead innovative practices in orthopedic surgery sterilization. Known for his analytical approach to problem-solving and providing practical solutions, Keenan is a highly respected figure in the sterile processing community. His journey reflects a steadfast commitment to professional excellence and continuous growth in the healthcare service sector.
